The 2011 Festival featured a "data run," an art project by eteam (Franziska Lamprecht and Hajoe Moderegger).
To fixed points were chosen at the opposite ends of Woodstock, a bit less than a mile apart. Local student volunteers were recruited to help conduct a test -- which would be faster, to hand carry the data on a disk drive between the two points, or to send it over the internet?
With small amounts of data the internet easily won. As the amount of data was increased, the races got closer and closer.
Finally, as the volume of data crossed 1 GB, the "data runners" were able to carry the data physically faster than it could be sent on the internet.
The project was then presented by eteam at the 2011 evening session
